Install the app

The Tria app is a free download from the Mac App Store. Sort your first 20 documents for free and, if you like it, unlock it with a single payment.

Tria isn’t on the Mac App Store yet: it’s coming soon. If you’d like to know on day one, write to hola@lyn.cat.
You need a Mac with macOS 26 or later. You don’t need to create an account or get an API key: the app comes with Tria AI.

Download

Search for “Lyncat Tria” on the Mac App Store and download it. Whatever you buy is tied to your Apple Account: there’s no Tria username or password to remember.

The first time

When you open it, a five-step welcome gets you ready to sort:

  1. What Tria is. A before-and-after example. Click “Get Started”.
  2. The folder. With “Choose a Folder…” you pick an empty one or the one you already use. If it already has a TRIA.md, for example because you use it with the CLI, Tria uses those rules.
  3. The rules. Pick a template (Freelancer, Company or Home) and the language of the folders, then click “Create Rules”. Next comes “Who You Are”: your name and your tax ID (NIF), or “Not Now”.
  4. Permission to send. Tria shows you what leaves your Mac and where it goes, and asks for permission. If you already have an API key, “I Already Have an API Key” takes you to Settings.
  5. Your first sort. Drag documents onto the window or save them to the inbox, and see what it proposes.

If you say “Not Now” in step 4, Tria doesn’t read anything, but the rest of the app works just the same. Your first space goes through each step in more detail.

In the menu bar

Tria lives in the menu bar. If you close the window, it keeps watching your spaces’ inboxes and sends you a notification when documents are ready. From its panel you can file what it’s sure about without opening the app.

If you quit Tria (⌘Q), it stops watching. To keep it running all the time, turn on “Open Tria at login” in Settings (⌘,) › Watching.

The trial and unlocking

  • Trial: your first 20 documents are free, with Tria AI or with your own key. A document counts the first time the AI reads it: reading it again, anything served from the cache and exact duplicates don’t count.
  • Unlock: €9.99, a single payment, no subscription. It includes 200 documents with Tria AI and, with your own key, you can sort with no limit.
  • After that: packs of 500 documents for €8.99 that never expire, or your own key. Tria AI explains it all.

When the trial runs out, Tria only stops reading new documents: the archive, the History, undo and search keep working. Whatever comes in waits for you in the inbox until you click “Unlock…”.

If you reinstall the app, “Restore Purchases”, in Settings, gets back what you’ve already paid for.

If you remove it

Your rules, your profile and the history live in each space’s folder, not inside the app. If you delete Tria, your folders and documents stay exactly as they are.
