Terms of use
Last updated: October 25, 2026
These terms explain what Lyncat Tria is, how you pay for it and what you can expect from us. You accept them when you use the app or Tria's AI.
Who we are
Lyncat Tria is a product of Startcat App Development, S.L. ("Start.cat"), Tax ID (NIF) B65745622, registered office at Av. Alella, 23, 08328 Alella (Barcelona), Spain, registered in the Barcelona Companies Register (volume 43044, folio 39, sheet B 419176). You can write to us at hola@lyn.cat.
What Tria is
Tria sorts your documents with artificial intelligence: it reads them, suggests a name and a folder based on your rules, and you decide. There are two ways to use it:
- The Mac app, downloaded from the Mac App Store.
- The
triaCLI and the TriaKit engine, open source under the Apache-2.0 licence. They are governed by that licence, are free, and always work with your own key.
Suggestions come from an automated system that can make mistakes. Tria never deletes anything and everything can be undone, but check what it files, especially important documents. Tria does not give tax, legal or any other kind of advice.
The app's licence
The app is used under Apple's standard licence for App Store apps, which you accept when you download it. These terms complement it as regards Tria's AI and purchases.
With your key or with Tria's AI
- With your Anthropic or OpenAI key, the app talks directly to your provider. What you pay and how your documents are handled are set by their terms, not ours.
- With Tria's AI, Start.cat provides the model and you pay in documents. That is the service covered by the sections below.
Prices
| Documents with Tria's AI | Price | |
|---|---|---|
| Trial | 20 | Free |
| App unlock | 200 included | €9.99, one-off payment |
| Pack | 500, never expire | €8.99 |
Packs can be bought once the app is unlocked. There is no subscription and no account: everything is tied to your Apple Account. The price that applies is the one the App Store shows you in your country before you pay, taxes included.
Payment and refunds
Purchases are charged by Apple, through your Apple Account. We never see or store your payment details.
Refunds are handled by Apple under its own rules, at reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple refunds the unlock, the app is locked again; if it refunds a pack, any documents from that pack you have not used yet are taken off your balance.
What counts against your balance
- Each document read counts as 1, short or long, including when the AI is unsure and asks you to decide.
- Reading a document again, for example after changing your rules, also counts.
- Results served from the cache, exact duplicates and reads that fail on our server or in the model do not count.
- "Ask Tria" and rule suggestions do not count against your balance.
So that the service works well for everyone, there is a daily limit on documents and requests. If you reach it, Tria tells you and carries on the next day. Anything that arrives in the meantime waits in the inbox and is not lost.
What we ask of you
Use Tria with documents you are entitled to process. Do not try to get around the balance or the limits, overload the service, use it from outside the app or access other people's data. If someone abuses the service, we may cut off their access to Tria's AI.
Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep Tria's AI running at all times, but there may be outages for maintenance or because of faults on our side or the model provider's. The model behind Tria's AI may change over time.
If we ever stop offering Tria's AI, we will give you at least 60 days' notice. The app will keep working with your own key.
Liability
Tria suggests and you decide. We recommend keeping a backup of your documents, as with anything important. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damage arising from using Tria's suggestions, except in cases of wilful misconduct or gross negligence. Nothing here limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
Your data
What data we process, why and for how long is explained in the privacy policy.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will publish the new version on this page with its date. If a change affects you significantly, we will announce it on the website before it applies.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you may go to the courts where you live.
